This Artificial High Directional (AHD) program is another step forward for technical rope rescue practitioners continuing their professional development. This 50-hour program is a combination of hands-on, practical activities and classroom learning and is appropriate for firefighters and emergency responders, rope access technicians, industrial/confined space rescue teams and search and rescue (SAR) personnel.
Participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to safely construct AHDs in several configurations including tripods, bipods, and monopods in a variety of operational environments. Modules include AHD fundamentals, rigging physics, knot craft, guying and lashing techniques, all with an emphasis on safe and efficient operations.
As a prerequisite, participants must have completed a basic (operations level) rope rescue program and are strongly encouraged to review and refresh those skills prior to the training.
